Interdisciplinarité, regard de l’autre et compréhension du droit contemporain
Pierre Noreau, « Interdisciplinarity, the Gaze of the Othe rand new Conception of contemporary Law », dans Pierre Noreau (dir.) Dans le regard de l’autre/In the Eye of the Beholder, Montréal, Les Éditions Thémis, 2007, p. 7-11.
For scholars, law today still presents itself as an insular fortress located right in the middle of a vast terrain of knowledge. Legal inquiry seems always to have adopted an external and critical perspective on social reality, and this perspective reinforces the jurist’s self-perception of actually making the world. Of course, legal inquiry has its own logic and history, but it always seems to operate from within itself, constructing and reconstructing its unity through ever-increasing theoretical complexity.
